ERB-Employers Resource Bureau
Rationale:
Many Community Organisations only focus on HR issues when problems arise. This has resulted in many good and experienced staff leaving to work in the public and private sectors.
All employers should remember that employees are far more aware of their rights nowadays. Small organisations are not exempt from the rules and to ignore them could incur liability. Human Resource Management in the Community Sector should not differ significantly from either the public or private sectors.
Whilst not driven by the profit motive there is a need for many community based organisations to become increasingly “business like” and compete for quality human resources
